Wi-Fi and WLAN Services

The best performing networks start with proper design, based on our client's usage needs and requirements. J2 specializes in assessing wireless networks and working with our clients to provide the best design for their needs.

How do you use your network?

Not all wireless networks are the same. There are several types of uses cases for wireless networks and they all have their unique design challenges. Networks used for general office work, warehouses supporting scanners, hospitals that track assets and outdoor guest access coverage all have different requirements and different design parameters. J2 has extensive experience with all of these use cases and can create a design for your unique environment.

Best Practices

J2 has been creating and refining our best practices for 25 years. Signal level thresholds, AP spacing, proper AP installation and other factors remain important even though WLAN use cases may be different. AP's installed over the top of mechanical ductwork will have its signal blocked and contribute to poor WLAN performance. Warehouse antennas installed incorrectly will cause unexpected coverage patterns even though the AP is installed in the correct location. J2 knows how to navigate the design and installation of wireless networks for optimum performance.

On Site Services

With J2's vast experience with wireless networks, our predictive designs are extremely accurate. In order to get an accurate predictive design, we must have accurate data to put in our design. Accurate floorplans and knowledge of the building construction is a must. J2 knows that visiting the client site is the best way to get accurate information for the best possible design. Our on site services include surveying for environmental factors that affect signal attenuation using AP on a Stick method. WLAN AP's must have network access so ensuring there are plenty of switch ports to support the number of AP's cannot be overlooked.
